Flower Preservation

Treasures those special flowers forever with one of my preservation options

Preserving special flowers has become extremely popular amongst brides, and those who sadly lose a loved one and would like to keep some of their flowers as a keepsake, to treasure for years to come. As Flower Preservation is a complete bespoke service, I do require that all orders for flower preservation are directly through myself, where I can answer and ask all the questions needed to create your piece. Below are the first steps into preserving your flowers, please take a moment to read through before contacting me.

Flower Preservation

Please get in touch as early as possible to ensure I’m able to help preserve your special flowers. Last minute orders may not be available.

Step 1: Choosing your pieces.

For all orders, a ‘Main Piece(s)’ must be selected before any ‘Add On’ pieces. Or a minimum of Three ‘Add On’ pieces can be combined for the ‘Main Piece’.

Once you’ve chosen your ‘Main Piece(s)’, you can then choose your favourite ’Add On’ pieces from the list to complete your order. ‘Add On’ pieces are optional, your order can be completed with one or more ‘Main Piece’.

Step 2: Sending in your flowers.

Full instructions on how to send the flowers are further down the page.

Step 3: Deposit.

50% non refundable deposit must be paid the day your flowers arrive to my studio. The balance will then be due when your flowers are fully dried and ready to use. Please see my terms and conditions on paying the balance. You’re more than welcome to pay in full for your order the day your flowers arrive here. I will check the flowers when they arrive, and send you a message to let you know the condition they are in, before proceeding with your order.

Step 4: When your Flowers are dried.

When your flowers are fully dried, I will get in touch to let you know how they’ve turned out. Any specific flower arrangements will be confirmed before starting your order.

Your flowers will be carefully placed inside your chosen shape, and filled with crystal clear resin for the ultimate keepsake ornament.

Step 5: Your pieces are finished and delivered.

When your piece has fully cured, I’ll take some photos and send them to you.

Your item/s will be carefully wrapped with tissue paper, packaged for protection, and sent on their way to you! I will re-confirm any postage details just before sending them.

Sending in your Flowers (Step 2):

The best way to send the flowers is to start by choosing which flowers, leaves and foliage you’d like (please bare in mind the size you’ve chosen). Wrap the stem in lightly damp tissue or kitchen roll (not too wet) and wrap the tissue in cling film or a sandwich bag (you can cut the stem down if you wish, or send it whole). This allows the flowers to still have access to water while they’re being transported. Please make sure NO damp tissue is touching the petals, leaves or foliage as this will only encourage rotting.

Once you’ve chosen your flowers, cut and prepped them, either pop them inside a plastic tub (takeaway containers are great for this) or a cardboard box. If you’re opting for the cardboard box I’d recommend putting some scrunched up paper or newspaper at the bottom, laying your flowers on top and adding more scrunched up paper carefully on top of the flowers. This makes sure the flowers don’t move about during postage.

It may seem like a lot, but any damage the flowers receive during delivery will be enhanced by the drying process. If you can, send an extra one or two flowers incase this happens and then we’ll have some extra to fall back on.

Send them the quickest way possible, such as special delivery or signed and tracked as I’ll need them ASAP to make sure they’re in their best shape. Wilted/brown flowers will still dry, but will darken and possibly rot during the drying process, so please avoid sending these.

Please write your full name and contact information on a piece of paper and place this with the flowers so I can identify them when they arrive.

Try and choose the better quality ones if you have a choice, and ones that aren’t wet (if they’ve been left outside and it’s rained, bring them in for a couple of hours and then tip the flowers upside down to let any water fall out. Please let the water on the petals evaporate before packaging them). Try and choose the flowers with less damage/curled petals as these imperfections will remain and possibly worsen during the drying process.

Put in as many as you like, if you’d like a full frame or a sparse one).

Please don’t send the flowers until a shape and size has been chosen and confirmed with me.

My current turnaround time for flower preservation is 18-20 weeks as the flowers need to be dried fully before I work with them, and this can take up to 4-5 weeks for certain flowers.

I would also need a photo of the flowers if possible, just so I can make sure that the ones you’ve chose are suitable for drying. Please be aware that colours of the flowers may change/darken during the drying process, and this is totally natural and unavoidable. Full Terms and conditions for Flower Preservation can be found here. Please make sure you agree with the terms and conditions before sending your flowers.

“I just wanted to let you know I’ve received the spheres. They look absolutely amazing, you’ve done a brilliant job with them. They look even better in person, so vibrant and the shape really does emphasise the roses. I cant thank you enough for making these, it means so much to me and my family. You have been so helpful throughout the whole process of getting these made, and I’ll definitely be recommending you to people too.”
